About the project
School District has Department of
State Architect approved plans to construct a K-8 school located north of
Bellegrave Avenue and east of Wineville Avenue, near the intersection of Jurupa
Road, in the City of Jurupa Valley. The new two-story school is designed
to house up to 1,050 students.
On June 12, 2017, the naming committee for the K-8 school recommended the name Del Sol Academy and the Board approved.
Several new residential housing developments
border the north, southwest, west and east portions of the school
site. The new housing developments justify the need for a new school;
however, the District continues to evaluate projected growth in the area and
district transfer rates to move responsibly towards adding a new school
site. While Del Sol Academy is under construction, students living in
the area will attend Sky Country Elementary (California Distinguished School)
for grades K-6 and Mira Loma Middle School (An AVID & STEM school) for
grades 7-8. Click on Sky
Country Elementary or Mira
Loma Middle School to learn more about each site and their
wonderful programs. High School students in the area will attend Jurupa Valley High School, which
recently completed a stadium renovation and is constructing a
new "Innovation Center" that will house several
STEM/STEAM-focused classrooms and learning spaces for a variety of Career
Technical Education pathways.
Construction of Del Sol Academy broke ground on March 22, 2017 with student occupancy planned
for the 2018-2019 school year. For additional information on Del Sol Academy's construction, please contact the Planning & Development
Department at (951)361-6571.
